Personal Technology Project - Brainstorm

SO, a couple ideas I have for my personal technology projects are to create a WebQuest and/or to create a Google group specific to a science class I may teach.

Copyright Assignment

So this video is a multimedia creation. Teachers are allowed to use images without permission in these case for up to two years and if for instruction in the classroom. If he had kept this video for his class, he would not be in violation of copyright on this issue because it was made less than two years ago. However, it does not follow rules for sharing media on the Internet. It is not password protected, and it will be available longer than the 2 years. He could fix these issues by password protecting it for a class.

Another issue with this video is  that the images are not cited, either within the video or in the description. He could fix this by describing that he had permission to use the images and citing all images.

In the second video, the person who posted it did include a citation in the description! Hurrah! However, he does not specify whether he had permission to post the video. Also, it is not password protected and for use in association with a specific class.  Lastly, it is not clear whether this video is within the 10% rule/3minute rule (whichever is less), but in my experience with textbook associated video disks, 10% would be shorter than this posted video. And 3 minutes 20 seconds is over that anyways. So, this guy could fix his video by making it a tad shorter, clarifying whether he has permission to use it, and password protecting it for the duration of time it is posted.
